Today County leaders honored the 450 county employees who worked diligently through the blizzards of 2009-2010 while residents, school children and visitors remained indoors. These county staff were part of Arlington County’s SNOW TEAM and they plowed streets, handled citizen inquiries, mapped the snowplows’ progress, repaired disabled plows and vehicles, and keep county facilities operating while minimizing snow/ice/water damage.

Each of these employees was thanked and as part of that recognition, they were given a green wristband to remind that they helped create a safer, more inclusive, and vibrant community because of their snow removal and daily contributions to their jobs, the safety of others, and excellent customer service.

Arlington County government is proud to have joined the movement!
