Weekly Act of Actively Caring Week of March 1, 2020
Good morning, the main mission was completed and it was a very rewarding experience. I did learn that it takes time to really do for others. We all have busy lives and sometimes we must stop and do more. I am sure you all have your’e stories of kind efforts for others and I do hope going forward we can all share them. I did learn from Shane and Brandon that my acts simulated them to do the same.
So, what I am doing now is performing a weekly act of kindness and here is my first one for this past week. There is a young man who works a Kroger’s and he caught my eye because he just smiles like no one I have ever seen. Over the year I have always complimented him about it each time I checked out at the counter. Well we have become friends and I have introduced him to many friends. He is from Africa and his name is Mohammed. He has come to some of the lodge gatherings over the year and he was thrilled. He is going to the community college and his vision is to make enough money to go to Virginia Tech. He is driven to make money and to study hard. Well, Dr. Geller teaches a class on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and asked Mohammed if he would like an opportunity to sit-in this class to see how our kids learn and to experience the excitement of being on campus. I picked him up this week to attend and it was wonderful. He smile and participated and I must say the other student’s were intrigued by him.
Just making those extra efforts can enrich everyone.
Have a good day and it is fun to share a nice experience.
Joanne
